Hide option in message view
« on: November 28, 2014, 09:08:09 pm »
(Tapatalk won't let me add a request in the feature request section so I hope it's OK to put it here).

In the message view it would be nice to have the option to add a "hide and keep on server" button.
Thank you.

That's the message *List* view, not the message view.

I would like to add it to the message view's customizable bar of icons at the bottom of the message view (see images). That way, when I read the message I can immediately click to delete or hide it, move it to another folder, etc. Now, I need to close the message first, then select it, open the menu you showed, and click on hide. That's 4 clicks instead of one if I could put it as an icon in the customizable bar of the message view (which I prefer to the floating icon anyway).

... ups, sorry.  You are absolutely right.
And yes, I agree with your change request.

Yes, won't be a bad idea. Wonder if I should start using nested menus there - "More ways to reply" and "More ways to delete" or something...

My preference would be to not go the nested route because it would add an extra step to access the choice.

So for me just adding it to the following selection list would be ideal.

Thanks for considering it.

@someone -- which message delete methods do you actually use? All three, depending? Or maybe two? I mean everywhere -- in message list *and* message view both?

I use Aquamail on my nexus 5 and 7. Both as imap, while my pc is pop3 on Thunderbird.

On Aquamail I don't use the delete folder (don't need it). Nor do I use the move to folder. So what I really need in Aquamail are the following icons:

Delete (permanent)
Hide but keep on server (for pc)
Read/unread
Star
Select all

I suspect most people on imap may have similar needs but you may know better.

Kostya:

If you will change something in this area could you please have a look into my suggestions to modify a few German translations:

Thanks a lot

>> Delete (permanent)
>> Hide but keep on server (for pc)

Sounds like you can set the account's delete method to "hide" -- and then you'll still have access to "delete permanently":

- In message list, when you select one or more messages, the default delete method (for you, "hide") is shown as an icon, and the other two ("move to deleted" which you don't use, and "delete immediately" which you do) are there in the overflow menu.

- In message view, the default delete method (for you, "hide") is shows as an icon, and "delete immediately" will show in the menu.

Wow, who knew that this mail app had swipe actions in message lists.

What else does it have, swiping between messages?

:)

Your app is phenomenal!! Really!

The only complaint I would have is that it is so customizable (which is excellent! ) that it is often difficult to know where to go to change something! Almost need an "index" of features.

For instance, I'm now struggling to find where I go in the settings to change the green color the selected messages change to (see image) when I select messages in the smart folder message list.....
