Yahoo mail not deleting

Hi guys, need some help here. I'm not a pro at this so please forgive me if this has been discussed before.

I've set up my Yahoo mail account on IMAP Push on AquaMail with the option Send to Delete when I delete incoming emails on my phone. However, the emails are always only removed from my phone. When I log in with my PC, all the deleted mails are still in my inbox.

Is there something I'm not doing right?

- Correction: Yahoo does not support IMAP IDLE (the industry standard for push mail), so it's scheduled mail sync only.

- And one more thing:

You'll want to use Yahoo's web mail to check how it's working in Aqua.

Mail apps don't sync with each other -- mail apps sync with mail servers.

If Aqua <-> Yahoo web mail is working correctly, but Yahoo web mail <-> desktop mail app is not, then you will need to do something in the desktop mail app, not Aqua.

Hi Kostya, Thanks for your reply.

When I was using the Yahoo Mail app, any mail I delete will almost instantly be deleted on the mail browser page. However, using Aquamail, the mails are only deleted on Aquamail but not on the server.

Thanks for the detailed guide. At first my standard sync setting was at 10 mins and special setting for Yahoo was 30 mins. I changed it to 10 mins and tested. The result is still the same. The deleted mails are gone from Aquamail but still appear in my webmail and other mail apps.

One thing I forgot to mention was that the deleted mails appear as read mails in other apps even though I deleted them unread.

Nope, I've triple checked. It's move to deleted. I just found another option, to sync Trash as Deleted. Testing to see if it works.

I have a Yahoo account for tests, and just added it into Aqua -- which did find the server side Deleted folder -- Yahoo calls it "Trash".

So maybe the name can vary?

Yahoo's IMAP server doesn't tell what the special folders are -- my code has to guess them by their names.
