I'm not a "normal" user, I'm an IT Engineer and I would call me an expert in mailing and a "power user".
Mail is still an important thing for me and maybe I should explain the way I use mail a little bit.
I use a lot of folders in the most accounts and sort incoming mails with sieve rules on my mail server into folders to keep my inbox small and get a quick overview of "unexpected" mails. I know new mails in folders are expected and not really urgent. So I check these later, when I have time.
I have different accounts for different things: one for private stuff (house, finance, shopping, ..), one for technical stuff (mailing lists, forums, services, ...), one for my own websites, accounts for websites I maintain and an external account for some special things.
In every account I use more than the default folders (inbox, sent, drafts, trash, junk).
>> close the mail the entry with the account name is at the top of the folder list
You keep enough folders on the main screen (account list) to fill it completely and then some?
And you set them all to "sync" all the time?
In the two accounts I use for testing Aqua I have over 30 folders in each account (together 3.7 screen pages on my Nexus 7). These are only the visible folders and yes, I sync them all to have that mails available offline, when I have no internet connection! I have some more folders for archiving old things, but these are not synced.
This may look "over sized" for many people, but I use it that way for years and it works.
So, it would be nice, if the current folder would be at the top of the screen after closing a mail.
>> I use about 40 at the moment
This many in push mail mode?
Ouch. Your usage patterns are *way* outside the envelope that I imagined.
Yes, it's much, but it works and I need it.
