Push mail keep-alive question
« on: January 12, 2013, 02:37:49 am »
Greetings,

In the Wifi and Mobile data settings there is something called "Push mail keep-alive". What is this? What specifically does this do? Why would I choose to set different times that are available to me? What would be the impact?

Thank you to anyone who can help answer these questions.

Like any keep-alive it's a packet you send when there is no activity for a long time.
In this case it's for when no IMAP push events happen in the set time you put there in the setting.
Is a way to keep the link up as it takes more resources to restart an IMAP connection constantly and can also delay receiving a message.
