Notifications about READ mail - option to disable?

Hello,

My current notification settings are set to notify me of each NEW message (Notify only once is disabled).

Unfortunately, in this setup I'm also notified about each MARKED AS READ message - when I mark messages as read on my PC notification on my Phone is raised.

Is there any way to keep notifications about new messages and disable notifications about MARKED AS READ?

No, I meant READ.

Example:

I have 1 UNREAD message in my INBOX, my phone has already notification about this message.
New message arrives: AquaMail notifies about NEW MESSAGE, now I have 2 UNREAD in my INBOX.
I open thunderbird (IMAP, Push) and read ONE message (thunderbird marks it as READ)

Actual behavior:
-> AquaMail notifies about 1 UNREAD messages

Wanted behavior:
-> AquaMail changes notification count to 1 but does not sound/vibrates.

Reasoning:

When I receive new mail I might be away from PC, on meeting, etc, I want to be notified. When I READ my mail on my PC I'm already giving my mail attention, notifying me about the fact that I'm reading my mail is unnecessary.

I think "play sound only once" should do the trick -- at the expense of not having a sound when you get e.g. 1 new message, then the other one (there will be sound for the first, but not the second one).

thanks for replying, I'm aware of "play sound only once" solution which would not be enough.

I'd love "play sound on each NEW (unread) message".

As far as I remember AquaMail behaved like I would like it to behave few releases ago, notifications on each UNREAD message marked as READ (on changed state) started 1-2 months ago. Was it intentional change?

Um, no that I'm aware of...

Maybe you were using "Notify about all unread messages" before? Combined with "only when new messages"?

This will actually force silent notifications when there are no new messages during that particular mail check (i.e. your scenario when you mark one of two unread messages as read).
