Can't log in to my email using AquaMail Pro

This morning, I tried to log in to the two IMAP email accounts I check with Aqua Mail Pro.  I repeatedly got an error message saying "Error synchronizing mail, Authentication error: NO Login failed: Authentication failure."  On the list of folders, it says "Incoming server login error: NO login failed: authentication failure."  I've checked, and I have no trouble logging in to these same accounts using the email programs on my desktop computer (Mulberry and PostBox).  I check my email at least once a day with Aqua Mail, and this has never happened before. (I used to have Aqua Mail check for mail every X minutes, but several months ago I decided I would simply check manually rather than on a schedule.  That has not been a problem.)  I'm using Aqua Mail version 1.5.0.19 and Pro Unlock 1.0.15 on a Nexus 7 tablet running KitKat 4.4.4. 

I had a similar problem back in July (July 23, 2014) and posted about it here.  In fact, I've just copied much of the above paragraph from the message I sent back in July.  I went through a bunch of steps then, but no answer was found to explain the problem.  I did a similar check today, with the same lack of results.  The only difference is that back in July, I was able to read my email via the built-in email client on my tablet.  I haven't used that client since then, and when I tried it today, I got an "Internal Error" message, which I reported.  However, I then downloaded and installed the K9 email client, and I had no problem accessing my email on my tablet using K9.

Back in July, after I had accessed my email successfully with the built-in client, AquaMail suddenly started to work again.  I was hoping that perhaps after I succeeded in accessing my email with K9, there would be a similar miraculous recovery, but alas, it hasn't happened.

I want to say that I have had no trouble accessing my email with AquaMail every day since then, including yesterday.  The problem started this morning.  I have no idea why.  I do know that at least once, possibly twice in the last week or so, I have been informed of updates to AquaMail and have updated each time.  I don't know whether something in the update is the source of the problem, but I can't think of anything else that is different.  I have no idea how to go back to an earlier version of AquaMail, or whether that would help.

I'd be most grateful for some help with this problem.  Since I've already gone through all the steps suggested back in July, there's no need to ask me to check to see whether the security settings are the same, or other settings are the same.  I've already done so again today, without finding anything useful.  A full record of my earlier similar problem can be found here:

Many thanks, Paris Geek, for your quick response.  Where would I get a previous version of AquaMail?  Am I right in thinking that I can leave the Pro Unlocker installed and not have to do anything with it?  Also, will uninstalling AquaMail mean that I'll have to set up everything from scratch again, or will the preferences and settings be saved?

I might add that my university email system didn't change back in July and I don't think anything has changed now.  My two email clients on my desktop have no problem accessing my email today, nor apparently does the K9 email client.

Many thanks yet again, Paris Geek.  I'm using IMAP, so I'll try to save the settings and then restore them after installing an earlier version.  Thanks, too, for letting me know where to get earlier versions.

PS. Check that k9 is +really+ accessing your account before uninstalling/installing AquaMail.
I've been waiting to see whether AquaMail might miraculously cure itself, as happened in July, but it hasn't, so I guess I'll now uninstall it and install an earlier version to see whether that helps.  I have been checking to make sure that K9 is really accessing my account, and it definitely is.

I went to the page http://www.aqua-mail.com/download/ to download an earlier version ( I'm currently using Aqua Mail version 1.5.0.19 and Pro Unlock 1.0.15) and realized I had no idea what version to download.  I don't know the difference between AquaMail-market, AquaMail-paypro, AquaMailUnlockerMarket, and AquaMailUnlockerPayPro.  I also don't know whether I need to download both AquaMail and the Unlocker.  I was planning to leave the Unlocker I have in place (am I right to do that?) and just download AquaMail, but I don't know which kind of AquaMail file is appropriate for me. 

I'd really appreciate some help with this.  Thanks in advance.

Are those the same accounts as you had trouble with earlier, at your university? Or different ones? Where are they? Gmail, Yahoo, etc?

A debug log capturing the issue would be the best option.

BTW - K9 does not report auth failures, as far as I know... but I could be wrong.

Kostya, thanks very much for your message.  Yes, the problem I am having is either the same or very similar to the one I had back in July.  The two accounts are on my university's servers.  In July, the problem miraculously cured itself without any explanation.  I was hoping the same thing might happen now, but it hasn't.  Since July, I've had no problem accessing those accounts every day via AquaMail until yesterday morning (see the first message in this thread for more detail). 

I have now sent you a debug log.  I sent it via Gmail, since when I tried to send it via AquaMail I couldn't, since AquaMail is still unable to access those accounts.

I have no idea whether or not K9 reports auth failures.  All I know is that it is accessing my university email accounts and showing me new mail with no problem.

Thanks for your interest and, I hope, your help.

Paris Geek, I'm sorry to report that installing the older version you suggested did not cure the problem.  I installed the program and did a Restore, but I still get the same Authentication Error message when AquaMail tries to access my email accounts.  So I'm totally unable to use AquaMail.  I have no idea what to do.  I've sent a debug file to Kostya, and I'm hoping that may help.

I greatly appreciate your attempting to help.  If you have any other suggestions for what I can try, I'd welcome them.

Since the old version didn't help -- means something's changed server-side. Since there are apps that aren't affected, probably means it's not completely broken (on the server I mean).

I've now heard back from Kostya, and the debug file I sent him enabled him to identify the problem.  For some reason, I had my full email address as the IMAP login in AquaMail, rather than just my username.  He suggested changing that to just my username.  I did so, and that enabled AquaMail to access my accounts.  I'm not sure why the full email address worked in AquaMail until a few days ago.  Apparently, my university IT folks must have made some change.  All I know is that I feel very relieved to have AquaMail working again, and extremely grateful to Kostya and Paris Geek for their help.  Not only is AquaMail a terrific program, it also provides excellent tech support.

i've got HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error on EWS 2010 after update to lastes 1.5.5.19
reinstall didint work

default android mail program work propertly with the same exchange account
