Being able to access folders without them syncing all the time or showing on the main screen isn't directly supported right now, but needs to be. Hopefully I'll be able to work on this in the not-so-distant future.
The workaround with enabling push and disabling scheduled mail checks is a very nice one, thank you for sharing this tip.
First I like to say that I really like what I have seen so far in this email client and has started to use it as the main client in my phone
and will most likely go for the Pro in a while when I have tested it some more.
There is one thing that bugs me though and that is a bit of what this topic is about.
In the original Android Email client you have your normal folders like Inbox that is synced automatically.
BUT you could also select "Menu - Folders" OR through top menu "Show all folders".
With this it is possible to access a server-side folder at will without having to map which folder should be seen.
I could, whenever I want, go into the server-side map-tree and select which folder to open and when I do, it opens
the folder and starts syncing down the headers directly.
This functionality is THE one thing that I miss the most and is one big drawback that could cause me to to abandon
a product that in other respect is VERY competent...
One limitation in the Android client though is that it opens the folderlist flat and not in a tree-fashion so the list could
be very long and cumbersome to go through to find the correct folder. One way would be to keep it as a collapsable/expandable
tree-structure that you could browse down throught.
