Selective Sync Issue

I am a fresh AquaMail Pro user and have encountered the following issue: e-mail messages are synced selectively which means e-mails keep coming into the mailbox which I can view through the website access but they are downloaded by AquaMail Pro randomly - e-mails coming in the morning and afternoon are not downloaded but those coming in in the middle of the day have been downoloaded (not all but some). If I send test messages to myself even with attachments from other e-mail accounts then they go through. When I try to force sync by pressing the sync button then I get messages  which say: "E-mail Sync Error. Network Error." and the date of latest sync turns red with exclamation mark but remains unchanged.

To sort out the issue I have already done the following:
1) I've checked if other e-mail apps are working properly on my smartphone and they do (they download all messages)
2) I have checked autosync on the phone and it is on
3) I have scheduled sync in AquaMail to run every 5 mins and with background option as well
4) I have re-booted the phone after having done all the configuration changes - still nothing
5) I have contacted E-mail provider. They claim that they have verified server config and everything is okay on their side for which the proof is that e-mails keep reaching mailbox on the server but are not downloaded properly through the app but can be seen on the

Below pls find some details of the hardware and software I am using:
- phone Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (SM-G928F)
- OS: Android 5.1.1.
- e-mail domain: WP.PL (Wirtualna Polska)
- IMAP protocol supported by ISP: YES
- IMAP config details:; Security: SSL (verify certificate upon logon); Server port: 993; Authentication: automatic selection
- SMTP config details:; Security: SSL (verify certificate upon logon); Server port: 465; Authentication: automatic selection;

If someone could give me some hints on what to do I would be really grateful.

The / services often have issues with their IMAP server.

Has happened before (affecting Thunderbird too), will happen again -- developing an IMAP server (which they seem to be doing) is more complicated than most people think.

I'd need to see a debug log.
