Not able to view messages

I know this has been discussed more than a few times. I even chimed in a while ago about it, but somehow the issue hasn't come up for me until recently.

Specifically, when I tap on a message in the smart folder, I'm taken to the message but nothing in the content area displays. It will eventually, but I cannot nail down when exactly as it just takes too long.

To make it more frustrating, some messages I have viewed before stop showing. I've changed my settings to have no limits on what to download. Maybe I'm missing something.

Is there a solution for this?

As far as I remember, he issue that has been discussed a few times is another app, LastPass, breaking the system level HTML component that's used by Aqua (and many other apps).

If you're seeing a performance issue with loading message content -- this is different.

Please try Menu -> Compact the database in the app's main window (account list).

Configuring the app to sync and store too many messages can be an issue too. The defaults are to sync 25 most recent per folder, and to cache 250 most recent per folder. Have you changed those values? Those are per-account, under "options and folders" -> "account options".

You are correct: LastPass was discussed. Good memory. :-)

I compacted the database but I haven't touched the other settings. I take it that I should compact the database every once in a while?

I'll see how it goes now that the db has been compressed. Thank you for your help.

Well, it just happened again. I had two messages come in. One was a 47k message with a 39k attachment; the other is 19k and no attachment so I don't think it has to do with file sizes. Is there something else I can try? Should I send you the debug file? If so, is it safe to attach or should I email that to you?

Attachments don't matter.

Message size might.

Did the message show eventually? Did you have to close message view and reopen for this to happen?

Debug logs do contain personal data, so please email to kmansoft / gmail.

I'd need a debug log where the issue actually occurred, and for you to let me know a point in time when it happened (give or take a few minutes).
