Support for Exchange

Is there a roadmap to supporting Exchange clients. Recently, the university I work at removed support for IMAP on their Exchange server, and I can no longer get my email via Aqua Mail. I had to set up an Exchange account with the built-in Droid email tool. Having the ability to be able to get ALL my email via Aqua Mail again would be nice. Thanks

It's a licensing issue. I'm not sure yet how it's going to work out, even though I'd like to have it.

This would be good as you can set gmail up as exchange aswell and it works well - or did on my iphone.

No, you can't set up the Gmail app to connect to Exchange.

The built-in Email app has Exchange support, but that's a different app.

Isn't that related to Google supporting the activesync protocol? This, as I have heard, is going to be abandoned by Google very soon.

I also would like to throw in my vote for exchange support. I am forced to use touchdown right now and I'm mad I had to fork out $20 for an app I only can use for my work email. Also Gmail no longer supports Active-Sync, however IMAP IDLE is just as good for email push and it is supported by Aqua (hats off to the dev, and to Google also). I'm not sure if IDLE will sync contacts and calendar and stuff but for email it is the shiz and it uses very little power on my phone. In fact Aqua Mail running IMAP IDLE for two Gmail accounts uses less power than K9 with all auto syncing turned off (I had to sync it manually every time and sometimes it would fail, if I left the auto sync on it cut my battery life by more than 60%!). Anyways Aqua is my new best friend and my wife and I warmly thank the dev for his excellent work!

I used a lot of e-mail clients but none was as good as Aqua Mail. Thank you very much, Kostya! There is only one thing that would make Aqua Mail perfect and would enable me to throw all other clients of my Smartphone: The MS Exchange server support. Any timeframe for that? The build-in e-mail client of my Android 2.3.6. is terrible when you are used to Aqua Mail...

Sorry, no timeline, I'm a one person team.... Things come up all the time, but yes, I know it would add a lot of value to the app.
