Email Sync

Hi Kostya,

Hope all is well with you mate. Thanks for the recent updates. I have some small issues after the update and require your immediate assistance. I noticed that my mails does not sync by itself every 10 mins as per my settings. I am not sure why it does not sync, I have to manually click the sync button to download the emails. Pls let me know if can revert this somehow or missed out some settings accidentally during the update. Thanks in advance.cheers

All app and account settings normally carry over.

Does mail sync at all, just not every ten minutes?

Are any errors if you use the app's refresh buttons?

Does it affect all your accounts, or just some (any pattern)?

One thing that's always worth checking is the system level "master kill switch" for all background sync.

On recent (4.1+) Android versions:

System settings -> data usage -> Menu -> make sure "Auto sync data" has an "on" checkbox.

I'm attaching a screenshot from my Galaxy S4.

Another thing is the app's own night / weekend mode, when set to "skip mail check". This is in Aqua's settings, in its own section.

All else failing, please capture the issue in a debug log (link to instructions below), leaving the app running in the background long enough to capture when it was supposed to sync.

Dear Kostya,

Thanks for the super fast reply, really appreciate it. I am actually using the Pro version on HTC One (M8). Just a small update the issues only started after i did the second update which was out last week..
 
Anyway to answer some of your questions above as follows:
The mail sync does not happen at all, and it affects all account.  The funny thing is i when into data usage and i dont even see Aquamail listed at all. The weekend mode etc is all disabled .

I am not sure what has gone wrong, but i have also send you the log and hope you can assists to resolve this matter, as its a total pain now, as i have to manually push for my email, apart from that the new updates are actually ver y well thought off, keep up the good work. Cheers.

The device's system level "auto-sync" setting was off.

I know it defaults to "enabled" in stock Android, and every other manufacturer I've owned.

An overly helpful salesperson -- or HTC choosing bad defaults?
