Unwanted notification at scheduled syncing
« on: July 02, 2014, 11:50:48 pm »
Hi,

It's not exactly a BUG per say...but it's been bugging me for a while. When "scheduled sync" is checked, AquaMail sends an instant notification (the little blue @ sign) to the notification bar showing that mail it's been checked as per schedule. Although I'd like to keep the feature checked I don't like it to send a notification because it interferes with Tasker which seeing a notification from AquaMail believes that I've got a new email and it does what I've instructed to do. The tasker condition is based on receiving a notification from a specific application - in this case AquaMail.

In other words, I would really appreciate making an option to send no notifications when "scheduled syncing" is performed in the background?

Thanks,

AquaMail settings -> look and feel -> turn off "status bar icon"

And ask Pent to ignore notifications with FLAG_ONGOING in the Intent :)

Prompt and to the point...as always. Thanks, Kostya!

Well, I've been using AquaMail since you've launched it and I have never had the status bar icon option checked. So that's not it, I've got no ongoing notification from AquaMail!
On the other hand, while I see the validity of your point about Tasker's notifications, my suggestion was about the instantaneous notification sent by AquaMail to the notification bar upon refreshing the accounts AFTER the network has been restored or at schedule checks - the little blue @ symbol only visible for a second or two, and then is gone.

On the other hand let me thank you once again for your FANTASTIC software and consistent support. Greatly appreciated, excellent job!
