Account settings - show password not available

Hi,

I have the last version 1.3.29.4 and I want to show password for one of my account, but option "show password" it's not available, I can't check box, it's grey.
This is a bug or something else?

Working as intended. For an existing account,  you can't show the password -- what if you lose the phone?

You're right.. but I don't remember password and and when I use a procedure for recovery password I don't remember security answer for question :-)... that I want to use this options for a moment..

If it troubles you, use backup account settings from time to time.
Recovering account settings then  becomes a little (or a lot) easier.
Clearly, saving the backup remotely is better than leaving it on the device, but as the backups have passwords too, you can protect them if they stay on the device. Advantage is only one password for any number of accounts. I use "generated" 16 character passwords on my several email accounts, so only using backup or writing them down could possibly work!
Only one to remember, then, but of course only one to forget....
On the subject of passwords, I just had my tablet replaced due to a fault, and it was a bit of a head scratch to transfer the backup file between devices, without having the email already working, and without an on the go USB connector to use a USB drive. In the end I had to upload into Dropbox, but you cannot download from Dropbox to aqua mail backup folder, so I had to download it first to the downloads folder and restore the email on the new device from there. I note that some apps allow access to Dropbox, but aqua mail not.

Is there an easier way?

BTW - recent dev versions enable the "show password" checkbox for existing accounts *if you complete delete the password first*.

So entering the new password is now easier, but existing passwords still won't be revealed if the device is lost / stolen, etc.

As for "some apps allow access to Dropbox, but aqua mail not" -- can you clarify what you mean by that?

Aqua has a button on the backup / restore screen to choose the folder, and then, it's "just a folder" that any other app should be able to access. If this is not the case, I'd like to know the specifics.

About dropbox.

I forgot that it works differently on phones (as opposed to the desktop app). There may not be a folder configured to sync with the cloud at all times.

So, I added support for backing up / restoring settings to / from Dropbox right into Aqua. Going to post it later tonight.
