Has been working just fine until yesterday, keep getting the message above. This address works fine still on my computer, just not my Android phone, as of yesterday. Nothing changed in Aqua mail, IMAP accounts still work fine. Here are the server settings.

Incoming mail server (POP):
POP Server: pophm.sympatico.ca
Port: 995
SSL required: Yes (Select This server requires a secure connection (SSL) or Use SSL.)

Outgoing mail server (SMTP):
SMTP Server: smtphm.sympatico.ca
Port: 25 (or 587 if port 25 does not work)
Authentication required: Yes
TLS/SSL required: Yes (Select TLS if available, if not, select SSL.)

Well, something must have changed.

For outgoing, port 25 is often blocked by ISP's, so using 587 is more reliable.

The actual server names are: pop.bc.hotmail.com and smtp.bc.hotmail.com, can you try changing the account's settings? And also rebooting the phone?

"Well, something must have changed."

I can assure you, nothing has changed at my end. I haven't touched the account settings since I set them up on this phone a year ago.

I deleted the account, setup new, now I get authentication errors, but it works fine on my computers. Tried with "stock" email app and get the same error. Kinda of at a loss, prior to yesterday this account has worked fine for the last 4 years.

Appears to not be a Aqua mail issue.

Well, these things can change at any time:

- DNS used by the mail servers
- Networking connectivity on any hop between your Android device and the mail servers
- ..... other things

Have you checked what server settings you're using on the computer? Something's got to be different, I don't believe in evil fairies :)

I don't happen to have a sympatico account, but @hotmail is still working fine here.

I also encourage you to update to the latest AquaMail development build, since it has a workaround for an IPv6 issue present in Android. I don't *think* that "pop.bc.hotmail.com" has IPv6, but just in case?
