Different "delete message" icons

I've noticed that the small-screen version and the tablet version use different icons for deleting a message: for small-screens there is an "X" and for the tablet version a trash can. Is this intentional?

Those icons represent different default ways of deleting messages:

The trash can is "move to deleted" (either local or on the folder)

The "X" is "delete now" (without moving to the deleted folder)
