• Textmarker Farbe (Highlighter* color) is certainly not the correct technical term but in my opinion an understandable description for an average user.
   * https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highlighter
The link figured the problem out exactly :):
In technological environments (!) the term "to highlight" is often use as "mark/select text for editing". If I highlight a text, I want to make it bigger, bold, italic or something else.

Also in AquaMail
- First action:  you have to manually "highlight" the text (color changes to default highlight color)
- Second action: you choose the color you like - this is what we are currently translating

However, I agree with your suggestion:

Fill color > Text-Hintergrundfarbe
Thank you very much. :)

@Paris Geek:
"Hintergrundfarbe" as term without any relation could refer to whole mailbody

Have a nice weekend :)

Exactly, that's the reason we prefer to use the "long" version  :)

So it's:

Text-Hintergrundfarbe

Correct?

German translations for version 1.6.2-dev4.3:

<!-- strings_prefs.xml -->

<string name="prefs_contacts_replace_names_view_summary">Ersetze die original Kontaktnamen mit den Namen aus den eigenen Kontakten, ausgenommen im Fenster bei Erstellung einer neuen Nachricht</string>

<string name="prefs_view_list_color_star_indicator">Farbe: Stern-Markierung</string>

... and a modification for an existing string:

<string name="prefs_contacts_replace_names_compose_summary">Ersetze die original Kontaktnamen mit den Namen aus den eigenen Kontakten, im Fenster bei Erstellung einer neuen Nachricht</string>

Update:
New version below ->

Hello, some thoughts on sunday morning :) - at first thanks to mikeone.

1. @Kostya:
From my point of view the english term "replace" associates, that there were changes made to the mail header. But there are no changes. AquaMail just "display" names of contact list.

2. Grammatical aspects in translation above:
"die originalen Kontaktnamen" or "die Original-Kontaktnamen"

3. Suggestions (verb at last position):

<!-- strings_prefs.xml -->

<string name="prefs_contacts_replace_names_view_summary">Statt originaler Namen die Namen aus den eigenen Kontakten anzeigen - außer bei der Erstellung einer neuen Nachricht</string>

<string name="prefs_view_list_color_star_indicator">Farbe: Stern-Markierung</string>

... and a modification for an existing string:

<string name="prefs_contacts_replace_names_compose_summary">Bei der Erstellung einer neuen Nachricht statt originaler Namen die Namen aus den eigenen Kontakten anzeigen </string>

Hi Nica,
Thanks for your suggestions with which I fully agree.

I'd propose to change that in English and all other languages. It is confusing.
Kostya, remember, when I joked about this feature,  I thought it was indeed replacing the existing one (when replying) .

I kind of like "replace" since it lets me have same string for the "title" of the setting.

Since the "summaries" (of the two settings) are now distinct, and explicit about "... except on the compose screen" vs. "... on the compose screen", is that still a problem?

Re: Mail headers

What are those? :)
