Thank you.

Consistency check please?

These settings are next to each other.

<string name="prefs_ui_main_read_deleted_summary">Markiere Nachrichten als gelesen wenn sie in den Ordner \"Gelöscht\" verschoben werden</string>

Ok. If you want to follow the way mikeone did it, you will use this one:

<string name="prefs_ui_main_read_archive">Markiere als gelesen beim Archivieren</string>
<string name="prefs_ui_main_read_archive_summary">Markiere Nachrichten als gelesen, wenn sie in den Ordner \"Archiv\" verschoben werden</string>

Thanks to Nica.

BTW:
Not all translations are made by myself. However, I have checked most (all?) of them for consistency during last year.

The German translations thus correspond to the English original text:

The German translations thus correspond to the English original text: (..)
Translating word by word ist not what "correspond" of a translation means.

Translating software into german language, we have to consider always 3 criteria:

- content related aspects
- language related aspects
- user interface related aspects (e.g. max length of strings)

Language related aspects mean, that software translations follow usual mode of expression. In german language usually you will find a formal style of expression, which avoids direct addressing and will have the verb and the end of a string (that's how I learned it). I already tried to explain it here, so I don't revive the discussion.  :)

However, there are many apps, which are translated worse ;). So thank you for your work.

Please, excused my interruption. I just wanted to say that it's fun reading your linguistic discussions.

With all of that, there is one thought that keeps coming to me: It's nice that the translation is happening from English (which typically has short words), and not from German that has very long words.
Rindfleischetikettierungsuberwachungsaufgabenubertragungsgesetz
Grundstücksverkehrsgenehmigungszuständigkeitsübertragungsverordnung
Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft

or just a "simple" (albeit not prime) number: Siebenhundertsiebenundsiebzigtausendsiebenhundertsiebenundsiebzigster

End of comment, you may now resume your regularly scheduled activities.

@StR,
I appreciate your response :-)

@nica,
Hope that the recent translations are more likely to your recommendations.  8)

The English translation:
Seven hundred seventy-seven thousand seven hundred seventy-seventh

... seems to be not just shorter than the German wording  8)

But in German,  it's a single word. :)
And in Russian (where words on average are longer than  in English) it would be even shorter: 777 777. :)
Right,  Kostya?
