Actually, I want to ask a question about encryption but when I saw this discussion and since I am a German, I want to share my opinion.

I don't agree that "Gemeinsamer Ordner" is a nice term for smart inbox.
It does not describe the overall function of this box.
And by the way, "unified" does not mean "gemeinsam" but "einheitlich".

The last suggestion from Freak is not too bad. "Fokus" describes exactely the function, for this box contains the mails which are currently in the focus of interest.
Moreover the name is not that long. In my view, a nice term would be "Fokusbox".

Dear Paris Geek,

"comon mail box" = "gemeinsame Mailbox" (Actually Mailbox is "Briefkasten", but the anglicism is more common in the "E-world".)
"common place" = "gemeinsamer Ort"
"unified mail" = "vereinte Mail"

But all terms do not really fit for smart inbox.

Fokusbox is inventive, corresponds to the function and sounds well.

Ok, and what is the meaning of Fokusbox outside of AquaMail?
Sorry, but I think nobody can imagine what should it describes.

This Term doesn't corresponding in the same way like e.g. "Smart Mailbox".

Furthermore it isn't a "German translation".

At the moment i can't make a better suggestion.

Mattik, I fully agree with your opinion.

What are your thoughts about

"Gruppierter Ordner" (grouped/assorted folder) or
"Kombinierter Ordner" (combined folder) or - my favorit -
"Integrierter Ordner" (integrated folder)?

Dear Nerds,

I'm a German. Fokusbox isn't a usual term. I think, Sammelbox (like collection box) shows better the meaning of that box.

Maybe, a good german name is "Sammeleingang". I think it's even better than my suggestion before.

In German,  «Smart Folder» has been translated to «Smart Inbox». Since sent messages can also be shown in Smart Folder, I suggest that translation to German be updated. Someone may help ?

Try (in German):
Unified box
Composed box
Smart box
Smart folder
Unified folder
Intelligent place

In French, it's «Boite unifiée» - very good choice

@Idealist
We are not searching for a translation of the current description "Smart Inbox" as users can also use this folder for sent emails

Is is so hard to say in German "Unified Folder", "Combined Folder", or "Intelligent Box"?
Kind regards from Paris.

IMHO, it isn't ;-)

PS: I'am German.

Hi Mikeone,

thank you for your statement.

"Kombinierter Ordner" would best indicate it. I think ;-)

That are all no german terms. If "Sammeleingang" doesn't fit so good, let's stay at "Sammelbox". You can also say "Sammelfach".

I've just seen it. In Profimail Go "Sammelordner" is used. So I strongly propose that term.

Thanks for your feedback.

"Sammelbox" or "Sammelordner" is indeed applicable to the feature but (for me) it sounds a kind of "old school" ;-)

One more suggestion:

"Globale Mailbox" or (more german) "Globaler Mailordner"

+1 for "Sammelordner", because I'm old school ;-) and this is the best corresponding description of the function.
