Missing Emails
« on: March 27, 2014, 10:39:44 am »
My question involves emails that disappear after approximately a couple of days in Aqua Mail.  Whenever I receive an email, it stays in my inbox for approximately 2 days, then disappears, whether I open it or not and whether I access my email from my Windows based desktop using a POP 3 account with Outlook.  Currently, my inbox shows 4/148.  I can access the 4 emails less than 2 days old but I cannot access the other 144.  Where are they?  I have accessed my email on my Windows computer over the past week, but only to download email.  I have not sent or deleted any email via my Windows based computer.  All 148 emails in my inbox on my Windows computer are present and accessible.  In Aqua Mail, 144 are missing.

Please advise.  Thanks.

What do you open in AquaMail to view the message list?

The Smart Folder by any chance? This is time-filtered, by design (and the default is 24 hours).

The actual folder (Inbox)? If so, what do you see there - four messages, right? What if you scroll down, is there a footer past the messages saying "load more", by any chance? Have you tried it?

One thing you could do for diagnostics:

- long press the account -> choose last item ("Diag: message dates") -> on the next screen, choose Inbox (if there is a folder selector there) -> run the test and let it complete.

- when the test completes, you'll be prompted to email me a log file

Thank you very much for your reply.

I do not use the smart folder, I use the inbox.  After I long press the footer "all messages loaded", 3 additional days' of emails are loaded but certainly not all of the "missing" emails, some of which are weeks old, some of which are unopened and not deleted from the server.  If I close Aqua Mail, then reopen it, the 3 additional days of emails do not appear in my inbox.  I must go through the long press process again to get them back into my inbox.

I used an old Windows laptop yesterday, fired it up and opened Outlook on it.  It loaded all of the undeleted emails that currently reside on Outlook per my "active" Windows desktop computer plus all emails, including those I've deleted, for approximately the past 3 months.  They all appeared in Outlook's inbox.  So I do not believe the issue I'm having with Aqua Mail is related to the server of my internet provider.

I ran the test and sent you the file.

Thanks for whatever help you can give me.  I would like to rely on Aqua Mail for my daily email needs but find I can't do that presently since my emails just drop out of my inbox.
