Threading, Notifications, Folders
« on: December 27, 2012, 01:24:25 pm »
Hi,

just coming from Kaiten Mail and I really like your mail client, so I paid for it. Although it is really feature rich, there are some missing features I would kindly like to ask you to consider adding it.

I am really missing real threading (not sorting by subject). Using message clients since the good old Usenet days it's a feature I consider a must have for a mail client. Is there any chance you implement it in the near future?

I would love to see customizable notifications for given senders only. Or at least an option to not be notified for my own mails (which I use to send me as bcc).

Last, I like the way Kaiten handles folders. As I am used to store all my mail in server folders, I am now required to subscribe to all those folders in order to be able to move mail from my inbox to a server folder. It would be nice to add an option to select folders without having to subscribe to them.

Thank you for your good work!

AFAIK, message threading is not available in Kaiten Mail either. It is planned in Kaiten, along with server-side search support, but not before version 2.0.

Hi, I know that right now threading is not available in Kaiten, although on K9 (Kaiten is built on k9) threading is working now (not the version available in the market, but latest development build has it built in)  - it will definitely come.

Thanks in advance!

I've got the "BCC" thing planned for soon-ish (although it won't be in the 1.2.1 which is currently approaching the release).

On-demand folder access should be in the next after that round of changes (I hope).

Finally, threading is most likely a longish-term project.
