Just a thought, i like the idea of being able to compact the mail database. to make things simpler for users why not have Aquamail do this periodically say once a week automatically so users do not need to manually do it.
It would mean you could remove this option and make the interface slightly cleaner and easier for users who just want to install AquaMail and use it and don't care about all the other settings.
