NEEDED** YAHOO PUSH SUPPORT
« on: January 08, 2014, 07:24:56 pm »
Although Yahoo is not the easiest company to follow in terms of their choice of dated protocol, they do have 281 Million users of their web mail - which by the way has the better UI's of web mail. In addition, the proportion of Yahoo business users also number in the millions.  It would be a customer service initiative and business investment if PUSH for YAHOO was compatible with the best mobile mail app, hands down.

Don't think it's as easy as that. It sounds like the method they use of supporting Push IMAP is unique only to them and, unless your name is Apple, Inc, the chances of gaining the ingredients to the secret sauce seem to be somewhere between slim and none (closer to none).

Evomail has circumnavigated around the issue by polling every 15 seconds, K9 doesn't even support it last I checked (though they may have changed). Maildroid claim to support it, but at $18.00 for the ad-free version it better do a lot.

Kostya is all but a single geezer working as hard he can to do as much as he can to support the various standards that exist out there (IMAP being a million and one variations of a single standard) - seems that having to work on a unique variation just because Yahoo! don't want to do push via Idle seems like a huge ask.
