... disable an account temporarily?
« on: December 22, 2012, 09:54:21 am »
Hello,

is there a way to disable an account temporarily without removing it? At the moment I disable "IMAP push" and "Background sync" in the "Options and folders" menu of the account but when I click on the refresh button in the smart inbox the account overview shows the current time, even on the "disabled" account. A single option to to completely disable an account (and automatically remove it from the smart inbox whilst disabled) would be great.

Thanks.

I'd like to know if this is possible too. Used to do all the time on the iPhone when didn't wanted to get office mails on weekends or during vacations.

Disabling scheduled checks and push in account's Options and Folders is it.

Now if you tap the refresh button, that's a conscious action, right? What's the app to do but to obey your orders? :)

Well,  I actually clicked the button accidentally.  :-\ Can we vote for a simple 1-click "disable" option to be integrated?  :) Many other clients have such an option. I'd like to have it in exactly the case that mschower described.

More checkboxes could always be added, but I'm just not sure about the use case --

-- would it cover the user accidentally tapping the "refresh all" button, when he/she meant to refresh just one account by tapping the "refresh" button next to it?

Well kind of, though it's not meant to be a protection for accidental clicks. I think it's simply more convenient - disabling an account with one click instead of multiple (disable push, disable sync, disable smart inbox for that account, etc.). During my first days with AquaMail I was looking for the disable option and after not finding it I was asking myself - "do I have to delete the account to get rid of business"? Personally I'd love to have such an option during vacation where I don't want to be disturbed by business mail but still want to receive private mail on the other account.
