Hi,

did you change something with the UI? Starting with pre8, when in mail list, there are no ticks to select multiple messages anymore. In pre7 they are present. Also the context menu does not appear.

Quoting the changelog above:

+ Message list: hide checkmarks if showing contact images. Tap images to select messages.

So, Yes I did. It's "more minimal", "like all other apps" and even "more like the iPhone". What better praise than that last one?

Not sure what you mean by the context menu -- there was never one in message lists, long pressing a message:

1) selects it and
2) enters Context Action Mode, the icon bar changes to selection specific commands.

Just want to add that:

It's not necessary to tap *exactly* on the contact image. Same as before, the tap-sensitive area is larger than that.

Hi Kostya. It was a long time...  ;)

+ Message list: hide checkmarks if showing contact images. Tap images to select messages.

This is not disturbing...

When long press on a message in the message list, the message is selected. This is normal... Suggestion : Is it possible ton unselect a message with a second long press ?

Thanks.

Sure. I was messing with that code today anyway.

In two panel layout, it still works the old way (long press always selects, never unselects) because of drag and drop.

Hi,
thanks for daily beta version,

there is a folder named Bozze/Posta in uscita (in English Drafts/Outgoing), I think there is a difference, Drafts are messages saved but not ready to send, Outgoing are messages waiting to be sent, because the connectio is not available, for example...
So I think different status.

Since Outgoing messages are typically short-lived, AquaMail combines Outgoing with Drafts into one folder.

Outgoing messages are marked with a special icon (you'll know if you see one).

Hmm, yesterday I composed a message with several attachments but within Thunderbird on the PC. It seemed to be sent, but this morning, I found it in drafts within aquamail, but not in sent mail. I concluded it had not been sent after all, but had been saved as draft. I wish i had read this earlier, as i would have looked for the icon you mentioned. Possibly something to do with hightail, as the message is always saved to drafts, the linked attachment sent to hightail, all before the actual sending takes place.
I opened it, and it gave the appearance of a message being forwarded. The original message appeared near the bottom of the screen, but what looked like a new message editing area appeared above, but populated with the original to, cc, and subject. I typed "sorry, this might not have been sent", and pressed send.
What did surprise me a little is that (just as with a forward) I was given a dialogue to choose which attachments to include. The surprise was not that I saw the dialogue, but that the items to attach were actually present.
As I had used "hightail" on Thunderbird to convert the largest attachment to a link, the dialogue entry within AM for that item was something like ' "unknown" size 0bytes', and I simply unchecked that. No I don't expect AM to have handled that little speciality automatically!
Once the message was sent it turned up in the sent folder, but not looking like a forward, though it did have the extra line I had typed. It did exactly what I wanted, but along the way it looked as if it might not.
And yes, all the attachments and the hightail link worked fine.
Puzzled, but happy that it worked.

Hmm, so the original issue was that Thundebird didn't send the message when you thought it did?

AquaMail asking for which attachment to keep if editing a draft pulled from the server is normal.

So is the presentation of new / old content, split into an editable area with the existing draft content below. The existing content is not indented and no quoting header is added (e.g. "WHO at WHEN wrote:").

The original problem seemed to be that Thunderbird did not send the message, but it had been saved in draft. That of course is NOT an issue for aquamail. It IS probably an issue with the automation of the hightail add-on.
Not sure if you are familiar with hightail (originally called yousendit ). If you try to send a huge attachment, 10 Meg, for example, Thunderbird will offer you hightail. The first time, it installs an add on, I believe, then afterwards just offers to use it when you use a big attachment. In the attachment panel, it turns the hightail "attachment" into a placeholder, with a hightail logo, instead of a file icon. Doubtless this placeholder generated the "unknown" attachment AM found. A link is also placed at the end of the email so that any client or webmail can find it. Within Thunderbird I think you can just click the placeholder as if it was a normal attachment.

Back to your question:
You are right in saying there is no indent, no WHO at WHEN.
It also looked as you described - during the edit, there are distinct new/old areas.
But as I said, the to: and cc: as well as the subject were already filled in the the top area.
With a forward, I would expect to/cc to be empty, and the subject prefixed with FWD, or similar, but that did not happen.
While I was editing the new line, it otherwise behaved very like editing a message for a forward.
I had possibly 50 to 60% of the screen height to type in, and I fully expected the result to look like a forward, or maybe a lot of white space. In the finished email, there is a single empty line below the new text, then all of the old text.
I had ended the added line with a single newline, before hitting send.

I can pm or email you the screen grab of the sent email as it now appears in AM, but it is about the same in Thunderbird, too. I won't post here as it has personal data (mine, not secret, but not to broadcast round the world!)
