WiFi IMAP push sometimes triggers downloading emails over mobile data conn

I've noticed multiple times, that getting a WiFi connection for brief time (a minute?) and losing it afterwards is enough to trigger a new messages' check being completely executed for all folders over a mobile data connection. In my config, IMAP push is set just for WiFi.

However, I've not checked, whether the messages are read in their complete length (as predefined for WiFi) instead of just the first few kB (as predefined for mobile network), but I suspect it.

Is it possible to check at least at the beginning of each folder, whether the expected connection type is still being used for the current sync operation?

Is the WiFi connection lost after the app has started to initialize push mail (while it's in progress)?

Or is it lost while push mail is initializing?

Either way, all existing server connections should be aborted at that time (by the system).

Can you check if you also have a "check mail on events" in Aqua? It's in app settings under "mail, receiving".

Of the six event types, the first two are checked: System sync settings,
WiFi connection.

You can change the language in the android system, then AquqMail will switch automatically to english GUI ... need to restart the app

During the scanning, notification area says "Launching IMAP push: account1, account2".

If I switch off the phone's WiFi indicator/switch, the scan and message get aborted immediately.

Either way, all existing server connections should be aborted at that time (by the system).

I've now tried to disconnect WiFi router from power supply. Shortly after switching it on, the scanning round starts. After switching the router immediately off, the scanning continues over mobile data, afterwards Aqua Mail disappeared from notification area.

One more try. After the WiFi sign appeared in the phone and "Launching IMAP push: account1, account2" in the notif. area shortly afterwards, I've switched off the WiFi router's power. [Since this moment, during some 10 seconds, I could see the phone's WiFi indicator's data transfer arrows flashing here and there. Apparently the OS has still not informed other applications, that the WiFi connection was really gone??] The account1 was finished with red note under its name (apparently as not synced successfully), around that time the mobile data connection (G/E/3G/H icon with flashing arrows) was established. Afterwards the account2 was synchronized successfully.

Finally a "Push mail: account1, account2" could be seen in the notif. area for a few seconds, then it went off completely.

If it matters, my Aqua is 1.4.0.53, the phone is SG Ace2, GT-I8160 with stock JellyBean 4.1.2 (by operator).

I believe recent Android versions (maybe some manufacturers) will try to hold on to the current connect type if they see it actually being used.

I've seen this on my HTC One Max, maybe others (not sure).

The key thing here -- as you yourself wrote -- "I could see the phone's WiFi indicator's data transfer arrows flashing here and there"

Sounds like one of those cases with WiFi connection being held for a bit of time.
