I use POP3 to access my email. My desire is to never have Aquamail delete any messages from my POP3 mailbox. I would say that by preference I'd like to have email moved to a Deleted or Trash folder on my device when I delete them.
I have that mostly set up, but I have a couple of questions related to using this on a Nexus 5:
1) When reading an email, there is no button to delete an email from what I can tell. There is a "Delete Now" button in the menu. That gets old fast; I'd rather have a delete and move to a Deleted folder that can never affect the POP3 server.
2) So I went to the message list and multi-selected some emails and used the menu to delete. I discovered "Delete Immediately" deletes from the mail server (the messages deleted were not important); I assume that selecting Move to Deleted would have created a folder and moved the items in there?
So, my questions are:
a) how can I delete a message (on the device only) from the message reader pane?
b) And will that move to a Deleted folder or what?
c) And also, is there a way to de-fang deleting from the message list so I can't manage to delete email from my POP3 mailbox?
Overall, I'd like to read email, deleting to a Deleted folder, both from the message list and the message reading pane. Eventually I'd empty or clean out that Deleted folder, having no effect on the POP3 server. I desire this because I read email during the day on my phone/tablet and then archive a "permanent" copy on my desktop (cleaning out the POP3 inbox). I'd like the items on the phone to not disappear when the POP3 mailbox is cleared, however.
Thanks,
