- When replying to a plain text message, the signature's styling (formatting), if any, would extend over the entire quoted message. Fixed.

- Made contact picker and color picker dialogs not resize for the soft keyboard, so their content doesn't jump when the keyboard is hidden.

No, still eight colors.

It's not quite trivial, because most colors are assigned automatically based on each folder's database ID, and just increasing the number of colors will make them all shift.

I'm focusing on releasing an update that fixes issues found in 1.2.5.0, one or two of them fairly serious.

Hey Kostya,

I love aqua mail and since I bought the pro version it was the best thing I ever did. Now I have some thoughts and suggestions that I would like to share here and I hope people agree with me so that we can see them implemented in the future versions of this great email client.

1- The formating bar needs to stay on top of the screen, this will specailly be useful when replaying to a long email and it will help instead of going up and down the email just to format some words or make changes, which is  currently not very practical. Its ok for now and its not critical, but would like to see this improved some time down the line.

2- I found a bug when replying to emails while replaying within the included email content formating does not apply visually. Say if I want to make a word bold it will not show bold althought the setting is already applied but can not be seen. To check I looked into my sent messages and they had the right formating, but as I said it does not show when you are doing them on email.

3- I think "and thats just me" the pick colour option for the emails is useless, if someone maybe can tell me what is the benefit of having your emails coloured on the main screen and these colours do not apply to anything else?! What we really need is more than 8 colours for folders/inboxes etc. or a custom colour selector then that will be awesome.

4- And for now last but not least hotmail sucks in Aqua mail, I would really love to see me being able to see my folders other than just inbox. Also synchronisation is not good on hotmail, if I select and read an email it will not reflect that on the server! So when I log in on pc the emails will stay there as unread which not really good. Even delete does not sync on server. I hope something can be done about this in the near future, I remember sending you an email about this a year ago and you explained to me its microsofts fault, but I still hope maybe we can get this to work.

4 - MS opened IMAP access to Hotmail last night. Feel free to add the account into AquaMail again, using Manual account setup mode (you can delete the existing POP3 account from AquaMail later):

If you try to apply bold or other styling to some of the content of the quoted mail, say to emphasise a word you are commenting on, nothing happens.
Or:

Rich formatting is, by default, only used when replying to HTML messages, this is the "automatic" option in app settings, under Composing and Sending, but it's possible to set rich formatting as the default for all, including new, messages.

There was also a bug where formatting could "spill" from a styled signature over quoted plain text (when replying or forwarding). Fixed in 1.2.5.5.

Closing tag getting lost or ignored? I have updated to 1.2.5.5 and have never seen this anyway.

No styling in tapatalk? No, as far as I know, it has none. Just essential stuff like quote and /quote, links, and I know images can be put in, but styling of text, no.
On another board I use, re-editing of posts is allowed within a few minutes of the original time of posting, (but it is not allowed on your board). If you 'quote' a post, as I have done here, but then realise a mistake and re-edit, the quote styling but not the text vanishes totally as you start the re-edit. You then have to hand-code the quote and /quote tags! Nostalgia time.

Back to aquamail. I did a couple of tests and I think the guy who was bothered by the lack of styling in a reply may have been worried that you cannot highlight a word in the quoted text and then bold/underline/italicise it,  as indeed you cannot.
You can however style your own reply outside the quoted text.
Styling part of a quote may be useful if your reply is pointing out something about those particular words.

However, I do appreciate you are not trying to recreate a full blown word processor. That way lies madness!

regarding 2- as beaky interpreted, what I meant in "If you try to apply bold or other styling to some of the content of the quoted mail, say to emphasise a word you are commenting on, nothing happens." but as I said nothing happened when you are looking at it, while you are formatting. But if I go ahead and send the email, and then when I go to check my sent email in the sent folder I really found that aqua mail did all the formating correctly and its all visible in the email although I could not see it before the email was sent.

This might be too complicated, I dont know man, but Holly cow =D now IMAP works for my hotmail emails. I am so happy thank you so much for supplying the information "am I lucky or what!" =D hope the settings will automatically apply in the newer versions instead of manually adding the server settings.

TBH I careless about formating now my emails work like they should, thank you so much Kostya. I better go give the app full 5 stars in google play now =D


EDIT: By the way is there any pland to implement EAS in the near future? We are talking pro version it does not have to be in the free version, since most people I know would like to use their work email using EAS.

You can't, unless you merge both quoted and new content together using the pencil icon, and I don't see any reasons why that wouldn't work (just tried and it did).

Can you clarify?

EAS: no, never, unless MS lifts licensing requirements.

Hi Kostya,

Came across your wonderful e-mail app a few days ago and have been loving it! Thanks for all your hard work!

The only issue I'm having at the moment is with my hotmail folders.  I've tried setting up my hotmail account using IMAP by following the process outlined below. However I still can't seem to access or sync any of my folders other than "Inbox".

I've tried going into the options by long pressing the hotmail account, then going into "Options and folders" --> "Folders", and all I see there is my "Inbox". It won't show me any of my user created folders, or even the basic ones such as "Sent" or "Drafts" for example.

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this still a limitation with hotmail that I'm not aware of?

I use my folders to sort all my work email, so this is a really important feature for me. I'm hoping there's a workaround for this, as this is the only thing keeping me from purchasing the full version.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to get live access to these folders from Aquamail
