The messages load if I hit the refresh button.  But will not auto PUSH and will not beep or notify blink my LED light.  All of the settings look correct?  Thoughts?

Hard to say without knowing anything about the server.

Is this mail server hosted by GoDaddy, by any chance? Is so, they don't officially support IMAP Push ( please see the FAQ on the site for more info: http://www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=227 )

Do you have any other accounts in the app, in push mode? Same issue there, or does push work fine there?

has anyone found any solutions, either in this app, through forwarding, or another app that will allow godaddy email accounts to push, this is becomming annoying that i am not receiving my emails until i check them and for work i really need these to be coming in right away, i dont want to set up my phone to be checking every 1 minute either as that will kill my battery. some reasonable solution?

Looking around the web it seems that this issue with GoDaddy and IMAP push seems to be annoying multiple folk on all platforms. They still pointedly refuse to support IMAP push to anyone, anywhere.

The best answer anyone could come up with was to poll often. Not even remotely ideal I know, but it looks like GD really want you to pay for their Exchange hosted services to get push mail.

Granted polling ain't the best solution for bandwidth reasons, but have you thought of using another host, say Gmail, that would poll for you then push what it finds? True it's a bit of an ugly solution if not fully executed end to end in an organized fashion, however it's how I handle email with 1&1 and Google Apps (however I did a lot of work behind the scenes to join the two).

Rachel, my thoughts exactly.

Since has come up before, I've collected a bunch of info in the FAQ.

http://www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=227

Most important points:

1) IMAP IDLE does not work reliably in other mail apps 2) IMAP IDLE is not officially supported by GoDaddy (based on a post by an employee on their support forum, I have a link in the FAQ).

As far as other mail providers go:

- Google Apps for Business used to be free, now is paid, includes a bunch of services besides email.

- Zoho does not appear to have IMAP IDLE, but according to this thread, they should have it soon:

https://forums.zoho.com/topic/push-email-with-k-9-on-anroid#2266000003678875

- My personal favorite: https://www.fastmail.fm  Fast, has IMAP IDLE, filtering rules, great web mail, none of GMail's "specialness" (e.g. how labels maps to folders), and more settings than AquaMail. A plan that includes domain hosting is $39.- / year.
