I have been using AquaMail Pro for about a year on my POP3-enabled Verizon Note II.
There are two Accounts created -- one is for work; one is personal.
This started over the past two weeks...
Email counted under the work account says there are (for example) 132 messages -- but none appear as this is listing what used to be in the InBox (and then the Trash Folder).
Two new messages appear -- which I can see. And that count jumps to 134.
I delete those two after reading them. The count reverts to 132.
I have not used any other software on the phone to view or delete the earlier messages -- only AquaMail Pro.
I stopped using the default Verizon email App as soon as I discovered AquaMail Pro.
I have visited the work account's server and deleted all email, and/or downloaded it to my desktop computer (which also removes it from the email server).
I go back to my phone and AquaMail still lists 132 messages.
If I click on the InBox or ask it to Show Hidden (since these were all previously Deleted), AquaMail shows a repeating attempt to Refresh. That is, every second or so the Refresh Icon revolves, displays a second count at the top of the screen (1.02... 1.34... 2.07... 1.56...) over and over again. I have let it run for over an hour hoping it might display all 132 "messages" once it went through the entire list, but it never does.
The personal account does not exhibit this behavior. If I receive messages and then delete them on this account, the count reverts to 0 as it should.
Why is the work account doing this?
I've tried rebooting. And all settings I could find under that Account were unchanged. Nothing works. Nothing was changed recently. It's as if it's caught in an endless loop of trying to display messages which I know do not exist. I do not use Smart Inbox. The phone is running Android 4.1.2.
