Notifications with LED Blinker Pro app

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 that does not have an LED which can indicate new emails.

So I have installed the LED Blinker Pro app which makes a small dot appear on the screen of the phone as a notification of new emails.

When I get a new email it produces the dot but even when I have looked at the email the notification from the app remains. The Aquamail notification is not there but I wonder if the app is responding to that little blue Aquamail symbol that's there all the time?

I use IMAP. I have checked that all my messages are marked as read, and they are.

I'm a big fan of Aquamail. Any ideas how to get round this small problem?

In case anyone should care I've found the answer. That little blue symbol that by default is always in the notification area was causing the problem.

I've unticked it in the settings and it works ok now - not sure what effect this might have on Aquamail but I'll wait and see how it goes

These apps (this one, and Led... something or other, I forget)....

... they are for some reason unable to distinguish between "ongoing" notifications, like my app's blue icon, and "event" notifications, like for unread messages.

Not sure if it's a deficiency in how Android lets them integrate into the system, or something else, but yeah, turning off the icon resolves it.

How do you actually turn off the "ongoing" notifications? I've tried to turn of the icon in the setting but cannot find it anywhere? Please help! Love the aquamail app but need it to work with LED blinker or NoLED.

To turn off the app's ongoing notification icon (blue "@"):

App settings -> Look and Feel -> Status bar icon -> disable (ignore the warning).

Oh, and isn't it time NoLED was fixed to be able to tell "ongoing" from "event" notifications?

Anyone wants to try contacting its developer?

I too have LED blinker pro and get repeated notifications even when I've deleted mail from the server.

Would it be possible to incorporate a repeat notification feature into Aqua Mail itself? What I want is to be repeatedly notified by sound and blinking LED whenever  'new unread mail' arrives on my server. The sound and LED notification is then turned off once the mail has been read.

I like to be notified of unread mail say every 5 mins.

Despite spending good money on notifier apps I've yet to find one which works with Aqua Mail.

I'm loving the app but adding this feature would make me very happy!

A simple solution is to set the app's mail check interval to 5 minutes, and uncheck (under app settings -> notifications) these: "play sound only once", "only when new messages" and "only when there are changes".

Now you should be getting a notification, with sound (if selected) after each mail check if there are unread messages, even old ones, and it'll happen every 5 minutes.
