Title: 1.2.2.63
Post by: Kostya Vasilyev on April 07, 2013, 02:40:18 am
+ On Android 3.0+, "mobile view" replaced with double-tap zoom-out (enable "browser-like zoom" in settings).

This fixes not being able to zoom out past the initial scale factor on Android 3.0 and above.

Screenshots below (before and after double-tapping).

+ Added a setting under "Contacts" to confirm inserting groups into TO/CC (BCC is always allowed).

+ Added wrapping for long folder names, on by default, can be turned off in settings.

Darn!

1.2.3.0:

Just released into Google Play.

As a further development of zooming improvements, has auto-fit (like in Gmail) on Android 4.0. This is off by default, can be enabled in settings, under Message view.

IMHO...  Boo... for tossing mobile view for shrinking to fit.  I loved mobile view and how you implemented it, one of the very few email apps that did the reformat right.  The zoom doesn't even come close.

Unless you're running into systemic issues, consider putting it back or at least giving the user the option to choose either implementation.

Thanks, still great work.

Hmmm, but it really sucked on Android 4 - link won't work, and there is nothing I could do about it.

I will consider putting it back, not sure how it'll work out... It may be an either / or option with respect to multitouch zooming.

Thanks for the consideration.  Most links, at least in my usage worked. The ones that didn't, long press, then "open" popped up, easy to do. Shrink to fit is relatively useless as some shrink so bad, you have to zoom at a level that negates the shrink in the first place.

Too bad android can't get the bug fixed.

Thanks again.

Thank you.

I'm really hoping this becomes a popular feature :)

A big thanks to everyone who was demanding (yes, demanding) this.

It took an all-nighter, which I haven't done in over twenty years, but well, here it is :)

You, Sir, are one of the last truly dedicated programmers in the world.
And I mean it. It is such a pleasure working with Aquamail and I am really WORKING with it on a daily bases. As a personal coach I am answering 30+ Emails each day and since I am constantly hopping around - mostly via Aquamail.

Any other app (k9,kaiten,maildroid,profimail,better email,... - I tested em all) has some shortcomings. Not this app.
(Well..... maybe the automatic downloading of attachments via edge and gprs we talked about...?  ;) )

So - just in case you didn't know that: You are awesome and thank you!!! :-)

Love,
Dirk.

@ron.p - I just posted 1.2.3.6, which has mobile view for Android 4.0 again, as an option.

You can now choose in the app's settings, under Message view: "auto-fit" or "allow mobile view".

Switching in and out of mobile view is the same as before, Menu / View when viewing a message, but the above option has to be enabled first.
