Title: AquaMail not syncing when phone is in sleep mode
Post by: steve2526 on April 06, 2013, 04:03:10 pm
It appears that AquaMail is not checking my 3 mail accounts (Gmail, Yahoo and school IMAP account) when my Galaxy S3 is in sleep mode.  I have all three accounts set to check mail every half hour and Gmail and the school account are set for IMAP push (Yahoo is greyed out).

I'm not sure if this is a problem with AquaMail, or if my phone is not connected with ATT when it's sleeping.  When I activate the phone there's no network shown on the notification bar for several seconds after the phone wakes up.

One other issue -- I have all three accounts set to delete messages from the server, but that is not happening after deleting messages on the phone.

I should note that AquaMail is working fine on my Acer Iconia A500 tab.   :-\

Steve,

If there is no network icon in the status bar, then yes, I suppose it could have something to do with that....

One thing to check is the "master kill switch" for background sync in the device's system settings, under accounts and sync.

As for deleting messages, are you moving to the deleted folder? Is it set to sync with the server's deleted folder (there should be a color indicator on the left of the [ Deleted] folder item in the account list, unless you've disabled them all).

Could you try selecting a test message in one of these accounts' message lists, then doing Menu / Delete now, finally checking web mail (if you have access to it), to see if it worked? Just a test?

Kostya

I wiped my phone and reinstalled Aqua Mail and the other apps.  That seems to have solved the problem.

{Keeping fingers crossed!}  :D
