Title: aol contact list
Post by: embrimpress98 on March 28, 2013, 07:44:30 pm
I am new to AquaMail...I have it installed on my Droid Smartphone in order to access my AOL account. I get everything just fine except for my contact list. When I create an email I have to type it in manually (after getting it from an outside source). Is there any way to import my address book? I cant find any information at all concerning this issue.

Hi,

The app looks up contacts in the device's Contacts / People app. Normally, those are set up to sync with your device's primary @gmail.com account.

It's possible to transfer contacts (export from AOL / import into @gmail.com), which will make them show on the device and in my app.

The second step, import, is described in Google's help here: http://support.google.com/mail/answer/14024?hl=en

And even though Google's help page says that AOL won't let you export contacts, I found it:

1) log into AOL web mail 2) select "Contacts" on the left 3) use the Tools button in the blue "ribbon" along the top and choose "Export" then "CSV".

This should create a file with your AOL contacts, which you can then import into Gmail as described above.
