Title: Aqua Mail Server communication with Exchange Server

Hi guys,
I have a question. I use the Aqua Mail App on my Phone. I added an exchange Email Adresse from my company. Everything is working fine, but now we found out that the Aqua Mail Server in america is communicating with our Exchange Server over https. Why this is Happening? And why is the communciation not directly with my Phone? Our Security Admin is a little bit confused:-)
