Title: Push email
Post by: prfraczek on September 10, 2019, 07:27:55 pm
Hello,
Few days ago my push email stopped working (outlook.com and another custom private domain). After contacting customer service it has been fixed by Aquamail support by fixing one of their servers. There was no update of the app or similar.
Now my question is: is my email running through their servers? I know it shouldn't be. How it could be fixed without updating the app?
Customer service won't provide answer for this question.

I have no answer to your question because I do not know any "technical" details.

However, you could go over this thread in which Kostya - the former developer of this pretty mail app - has given some pointers to an earlier similar problem.

Hi,

Your email messages are not stored on our server. Aqua Mail is not cloud based, it works “the traditional way”, like Thunderbird or Outlook.
We have a server component which routes push messages, this server component subscribes for events (for example new message is received) on EWS and if this event happens we notify the device about that.

do you mean that this server component isn't used on gmail accounts for example?
