Title: "Have offline access" for gmail !?
Post by: silkweb on February 12, 2019, 05:17:15 pm
Recently one of my gmail accounts does not work any longer.

Aqua mail ask me to grant it the permission to "Have offline access".

Basically this app wants to be able to have access to my account when my device is turned off.

Why does aqua mail needs this kind of access for one of my gmail accounts?

It feels dodgy, especially because it doesn't need this permission for all my accounts

Its about not requiring you to enter user pass very time a token expires...

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/30637984/what-does-offline-access-in-oauth-mean/30638344#30638344
The app is on ur phone. When ur phone is turned off the app is not running. So that sentence is plain stupid. The app wants to be able to refresh its accen token (ie u dont need to enter user pass every time it expires)..

I had the same problem and solved it quite easily
by deleting accounts in Android 8.1.
Settings / users and accounts / tap on the account -> remove account.
The accounts were subsequently recreated and everything was fine again.
