Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I couldn't find it. Here's how I installed Build 1324 to get the notification LED back on my Galaxy S7 running Android 8.0.
- Located the build by googling "1324 site:aqua-mail.com". (It's here (http://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=6903.0))."
- Downloaded it to my phone.
- In Aqua Mail, backed up accounts and settings (Settings / Data storage / Backup and restore).
- Uninstalled Aqua Mail and the Pro unlocker. (Previous version wouldn't install without this.)
- In my File Manager app (you can probably use any app that will open the apk file), located and tried to open the apk file.
- Got a warning that File Manager can't install unknown apps. Used the Settings option to enable that and backed up to the install screen.
- Installed.
- Went back to Settings and turned off unknown apps in File Manager.
- In Aqua Mail, restored accounts and settings.
- In the Google Play app, reinstalled the Pro unlocker.
- Followed these instructions (https://www.wikihow.tech/Manually-Install-Android-Apps) to turn off automatic update for Aqua Mail.
I am now gazing blissfully at the notification LED.
Edit: Google Play updated it back to the latest version. Maybe I needed to turn off automatic update for the Pro unlocker too. Will try that and report back.
