Title: Is there a way to see Contacts, Notes and Calendar within AM?
Post by: horizon on April 07, 2018, 10:44:27 pm
Hi guys,
I am on Exchange server and syncing looks to be working fine.

After 5 years, I am returning to this great email client, but I can't tell if things change or not. I don't see a way to get list of my contacts or emails or notes in the AM main menu.
I see that Contact & Calendar syncing is enabled.

Also, I can't find "Archive" button with a preset folder to move emails, is this available in AM?

Thanks for a great email client.

- Contact and Calendar sync for Exchange accounts are supported. You should see those in your Contacts and Calendar apps.

If things are not syncing - please long press on the account on the app's main screen -> options and folders -> exchange options -> toggle Contacts and Calendar off and on, you'll be prompted for permissions (which are necessary for sync to work).

- Tasks - not supported and no plans

- Archiving - you'll need to

1) assign an archive folder

Options and folders -> folders -> wait a bit to refresh -> tap your desired Archive folder, choose "Sync as archive"

2) assign an archive swipe command if desired

App settings -> swiping

Thank you,
I didn't realize the the sync was completed because I expected to have contacts & calendar tabs. I understand now.

As for archiving, I was trying to set a folder by tapping and holding in "Folders" section, it gives me no option. I realize it was just a tap.

However, it does not create a "Archive" icon on email view.
Is it possible to add "archive" button option or customize the icons that show up at bottom of each email in Message View settings? I apologize if it's already there and somehow I am not seeing it.

Necessary first step is:

Assign an archive folder

[long-press on account name ->] Options and folders -> folders -> wait a bit to refresh -> tap your desired Archive folder, choose "Sync as archive"

Once there is an folder set as "archive" - you'll have a menu item (not icon, a menu item, if you tap "three dots") in message view to "move to archive".

You can optionally assign a swipe icon (for archiving from message lists).

( note: Exchange accounts don't always have an archive folder, so it has to be assigned manually like this )

Thanks for the answers, so we cannot have a Archive icon at the bottom, is there any plan to allow users to customize the icons that appear at the bottom, for example Next/Previous is redundant since we can swipe, but I can see some people wanting to have them there, so if space is an issue (each icon requiring x number of pixels) maybe we can remove Next/Previous and add Move to Archive icon there?

Prev / next icons in message view - there is a setting for that, app settings -> swiping.

Customize icons in message view - settings -> message view -> "customize the buttons".

( but I feel that having "Archive" in the menu isn't so bad either )

And yes space is an issue. We wouldn't want to have something like this:

You should be able to get an "Archive icon" also at the bottom in message view (... but only after you have defined a folder in AquaMail as an archive folder - as explained by Kostya).

Once you have completed this step, you can choose the 'Archiv button' in the app settings:
Settings -> Message view -> Customize the buttons -> choose "Move to Archive " and check wanted / uncheck unwanted buttons.
