My wife has a GMail account on the same tablet (guest user).
When she adds a receiver name, she only needs to type 1 or 2 characters and all 'hits' show up.
Most used email addresses are list at the top by just entering 1 character.
I am missing this feature within AquaMail.
Yes, AquaMail will remember previously used mail addresses, but 'new' ones have to be added in full first.
Is it not possible for AquaMail to 'import' the addresses from GMail?
How am I to proceed to get the same done as with GMail?
Thanks!

Yes Aqua Mail does auto-complete from the phone's Contacts (which on most phones will include at least your "Google Contacts" synced by Android from your @gmail account).
It's just after two characters, not one.
One thing that could prevent it is if the app doesn't have the permission to access the device's Contacts. You can check this in phone settings -> apps -> Aqua Mail -> permissions.
( and I'd also check if the phone's Contacts app really has the contact data that she expects )

Thanks.
You mean this ??
see screenshot.
after typing 3 or 4 characters, nothing shows up.
I type 3 characters of the actual email address (name-at-domain)
or type 3 characters of the alias
only the once I used before, typing two characters, they will show up (not by alias, but 2 characters of the actual email address)

Permissions - yes.

Sorry - I am not an expert.
Forget it.
I don't know how to get it working and have spent too much time on puzzling
where to look for what and on figuring out what I am supposed to do.

At least you could enable the option 'Recent addresses' in Settings > Contacts.
Oh, and you should try to set the 'Default contact picker' (just a few items below in the same section) to 'Build-in contact picker'.

Every Android device has an app called Contacts (or People on some phones).
When your wife runs this app on her phone - are the expected data (contact entries) there at all?

What @mikeone wrote above also works, the app will auto-complete addresses from the actual emails.
