I have aquamail pro. After an update everything is funny and often does not work and crashes.
Aquamail dissappeared from my android 6.1 tablet.
I had to reinstall it.
Now I can get mail, but when reading a few, the program suddenly crashes. Goes back to the default screen. Aquamail closes.
There is no icon to send mail like the older version.
I uninstalled webview as the faq says, but problem same. What do I do. The program is now non functional. I cannot send and it crashes.
Also, I used to have an icon to the right of the account that spun when checking mail. Now it is gone and disappears when I check mail.
Many problems. What do I do?
-
Yes, many problems it sounds like, and none of them seems familiar. No, not a typical experience.
Can you please try uninstalling and reinstalling the app (again)?
No icon to send mail sounds particularly interesting, it is supposed to be there, next to the "three dots" icon top right (on the compose screen).
Icon to the right of account still is there, on tablets and phones both, on the app's main screen.
Are you using a custom ROM by any chance?
-
will try to reinstall. Not a custom ROM. All stock.
-
I reinstalled the program. Now the send icon is back, bit no spinning icon when checking mail.
Now mailbox empty. I gave to wait until tomorrow to see if still crashes.
-
Today I was able to look at email.. Same problem, in that the program crashes when reading email. Consistently after looking at two emails.
Reinstalkation brought the send button back but did not fix the crash.
Suggestions,?
Worked fine before.

If the app really crashes then please check for the "automatic postmortem crash log" located at the root of your device’s memory card., log-AquaMail-crash.txt.
If there, please email to support / at / aqua-mail / dot com.
This file does not contain any logins or passwords or message text.

I cannot find any such log.

I am not sure of what crash means. To me the program crashes.
I receive email. About 20 of them.
I start to read them, and after two the program closes. To me that us a crash.
The only way to read more emails is to start the program again. Then same thing happens.
Is this a crash or a wrong setting?
Before I could not send anything, but a reinstall brought back the send button.
I also miss the spinning icon when I check for mail. I learned that if the spinning icon is spinning in the inbox, then mail will come. If the spinning icon is not in the inbox, then I know the program is having a hard time signing into Yahoo.
Android smartphone/tablet 6.1
Your program version 1.9.0-274
Yes this a a test version, but still a problem. The problem still was with the published version.

Re: I start to read them, and after two the program closes. To me that us a crash.
It just closes and goes to the tablet's main screen?
Is there a message saying that "application Aqua Mail has stopped unexpectedly"? No, I suppose?
What is the tablet's make / model, maybe we have one like that?
-
Again everything used to work perfectly. Perfectly.
This is a tablet/phone I got at Amazon.
Huawei P8max.
I wanted a tablet primarily. It is big. Everything else works fine.
-
"exiting to the main screen" like that is a crash in the low level graphics driver (deep deep deep inside Android).
I'll file a bug report. That's all I can do.
And then the QA can try to repro (if they have a tablet like this, but I don't think they do).
-
Thank you for reporting a bug.
I am in China, and some email apps do not work.
Your work fine. I will wait a few days before looking for other apps that do not have a bug.
-
Based on what you described, it's my understanding that this actually is a bug in the graphics drivers for Huawei's Kirin processor - which is what's in this tablet model - and it's triggered by something in WebView (and Android component that AQM uses to display message text).
I would try uninstalling WebView updates:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview
It *may* help, but if it doesn't, let's be realistic and not expect a workaround from us so soon (if ever, again, being realistic).

Thanks for the advice.
