Title: Calendar attachments
Post by: arbit12 on August 13, 2016, 06:19:14 am
Hi, since aquamail uses EWS instead if activesync, is it possible to get attachments in the calendar events? Or is it an android / calendar app limitation?

If possible, any plans to include the feature?

It's a limitation of the Android calendar "data scheme", events have things like start date/time, title, location, etc. -- but not attachments.

Okay. Explains why even the few calendar apps that have attachments have them only locally.

Actually, thought there might be some Kostya 'magic' like the EWS shared folders (only app I've found  that handles those and their calendars easily) or the upcoming EWS push

Interestingly, Samsung in Note 2 JB days used to allow attaching the handwritten memos in events. The feature vanished with KK, maybe to become compatible with Google.  Now looks like Google is allowing attachments from Drive. Maybe in a year or so the wheel will turn full circle and we will have syncing attachments again.

Not surprised... The Note with its pen input was a new concept, so they've put a lot of effort into coming up and implementing a bunch of "user scenarios" around that...
