Title: S6edge with Marshmallow and Cell Standby drain
Post by: amirage on May 12, 2016, 08:43:10 am
Hi Kostya,

I know that you use the S6 as you'd mentioned this in one of your earlier posts. Just wanted to know if you have faced cell standby drain while on mobile data? The issue seems to be more pronounced with Marshmallow...I have looked at a lot of forums but none has given a permanent solution...

Really appreciate your views here...

According to Google it's fixed in 6.0 -- I was seeing it with 5.0 a lot, but recently switched to an S7 Edge, where I'm most likely not getting this issue.

This the "mobile radio active" / "total connect time" we're talking about, correct?

The bug report has a few comments from people who are seeing it on Marshmallow, a fairly recent one mentions a Nexus 5X specifically:

https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=165558

That's all I know, sorry.

The issue is not the mobile radio active bug...that's an entirely different PITA...Kostya are you on data? Have you used the device with data and checked the issue....I'm sure it will crop up....it seems that the bug is to with the modem especially lte...the moment I shift to 3g...the bug virtually goes off...

test this at your end...

Not a lot, some. I'll pay more attention when I leave the house tomorrow, and yes my data is LTE.
