Title: Group messages from same address if subject is mainly the same
Post by: Shoru on April 06, 2016, 09:15:23 am
Hi,

up front: I've found some questions about this on the forum but it was from around 2014 and now in the search could not find it again to post there directly, also don't know of this issue might have been solved already.

So: I know there's conversation view but when conversation messages is activated and "only with same subject" is deactivated it only groups messages where I also replied. Would be nice to be able to group messages from same address. (without me having replied it)
but even better would be if there's a chance to group not only with exactly same but with mainly same subject. E.g. I'm getting a lot of messages from websites like "xyz sent you a message"  or "you got a reply from xyz on your topic".
Are these features just not there or did I simply not find the option yet?
Thanks in advance

Greets

In short: the app does not have those capabilities,  as what you described is not really a conversation.

Re: messages from websites like "xyz sent you a message"  or "you got a reply from xyz on your topic"

I've deliberately not implemented "combining into threads" for this case.

It really annoys me when such (separate, technically) notification emails are presented as threads.

Same thing can happen in business use, email messages with subjects like "Order" or "Question".

I appreciate your decision, since these cases are not really a 'conversation'.

Clearly my personal bias, but nice to see that I'm not alone in this.
