Title: Integration with Phone Calendar
Post by: joshbodine on November 26, 2012, 09:37:51 pm
Are there any plans to synching the calendar within my email to the calendar on the phone? What I mean is that I have synching enabled in AquaMail on my calendar and it shows the latest calendar items within AquaMail, but I want it to show those items on the calendar on the phone. Any plans for this, or does it do this and I have set something up wrong?

Calendar integration is pretty rudimentary at this time, I really need to do better for Exchange.

Right now the app downloads iCal / .ics invites as attachments, letting the user open them. But there is a catch -- the built-in Calendar app from Google can't open these files.

There are "bridge" type apps in Market that respond to AquaMail opening .ics invites, and put them into the device's Calendar.

And yes, I do understand the need to do better.

I would also like the application to fully handle ICS/iCal meeting requests. By handling I mean, adding it to Google calendar in case of acceptance and send the notification. In case of refusal send a notification.

This is something where Android is years behind BlackBerry. I still don't understand why Google didn't develop this. Business users need such feature.
