I've had this app for a month. love it, so decided to pay for it. Just in the past week, I cant open attachment:word, pdf, excel, PP, and the attachments I forward wont open by others. I know its the mail program because when I go back into the stock mail program, they attachments open. I'm on the newest version 1.5.5.26. Phone: Samsung Galaxy S4

I sent a picture to my coworker via phone, he was able to open it. if he sends one to me, I cant open via phone. the gallery comes up, but it has a picture with a strike through it. I cant open any attachments through Aquamail. It doesn't matter if its a pic, PDF, or MS doc. It opens in the stock email program. I'll download Office suite, but shouldn't at least a pic or pdf open? They did before? Thanks in Advance Paris Geek

AquaMail does not open any attachments itself.
It asks other -- installed -- apps to handle it.
This includes all document types, pdf, image, doc, xls, etc. You need to have an app that can open those.
Oh, is this in a @mac.com account?

When I downloaded the new version, an error said "there was an error parsing the package". Should I download this update on Google play? I cant opne a document even if I have the with the application. For instance, I downloaded Adobe Reader, and wont open a pdf, it says it damaged or corrupts. This on on several pdfs, but it works on another email client, but not Aquamail.

Why does the pdf open with another mail client, and no attachments open with aquamail? This was all working a week ago? Samsung Galaxy S4, Android. Not sure of a virus, everything seems to be working. I'll download the office suite now. Is there an Aquamail upgrade?

Yes, working with aqua mail last week.
I was just prompted to upgrade to Lollipop. Doing it now.
I have one account on exchange (work) and one on IMAP (personal)
I'll send you an email as soon as the phone finishes the lollipop upgrade.
BTW, this email is great, and you guys are very attentive

Hi kostya, I'm having the same issue with the attachments. I had a good stretch, and now the issue with the pdfs again. the attachmenti forward address corrupt and the recipients can't open them. Any idea?

Sorry, I can't see *inside the app on your phone* from here.
Are you able to open those in your incoming messages?
If not, is it limited to PDFs?
What sort of mail account is it -- @mac.com by any chance? If not, is it IMAP or POP3?

its a mail exchange account for work. If I forward the attachment through aquamail, when the recipient tries to open, it says the file is corrupt and contains no data. When I get home and forward via outlook on my PC, there is no issue. This happened before and we tried a host of things. it didn't work until you told me to uninstall and reinstall aquamail. it work for a couple months and started doing the same thing. Only with PDFs. I work in sales and have to forward documents when I'm on the road

Hmm... Interesting.
Could you use a file manager (any one will do) and then:
<large internal storage> -> Android -> data -> org.kman.AquaMail -> files -> parts
Delete all files you see there -- these are cached attachments, with names like "aXX-fYY-mZZ-...".
Just as a test, if it helps, it would give me "food for thought".

It doesn't work. When I try to open a PDF it says, "Cannot display pdf....is of invalid format

and rebooting the phone?
Also are other types of attachments still fine, say, images?

Yes, I deleted those and rebooted. Pictures open and send fine, it's just pdf's

I have installed three different ones, all to no avail. i was able to open a pdf, but when i email it, it becomes corrupted. See attached photo

I'm kind of at a loss too... And don't understand why it would only happen to PDFs and not other attachment types...

Bummer, I've tried three other PDF viewers. It works when I use the standard email that comes with droid.

Ok, so let's summarize.
After a fresh install of AquaMail:
- no trouble at all with any attachments -- PDFs, images, whatever
After some time passes
- PDF's apparently download corrupted: you can't view them, and if you forward, they come across as corrupted too
- Other attachment types continue to work fine?
- If so, does that include images? Other attachment types (have you tried)?
Is the above correct?

Correct
PDF's do not work along with some images. Word docs seem to open with the WPS Office app.
Here is a recent situation, I had a JPEG that was sent to me that I needed to forward. I sent it to two people in my organization via my phone/aquamail, neither of them could open it. I went on the company webmail via my phone and sent it from there, and they were able to open it.

Ok, Paris Geek is on to something.
I sent myself a company PDF to my personal email. It opened with no issues on my phone/aquamail. i resent the same email to my work address, and it would not open on my phone/aquamail, but it did open on my desktop.

I would ask for a different test.
1 - Enable debug logging with "raw data".
2 - Send yourself a PDF from web mail or desktop (to keep Aqua's log less cluttered).
3 - Check mail in first account (just the account, or the folder would be even better, to reduce the clutter), wait for test message to show, click the attachment so it downloads too.
4 - Same with the second account.
I think we're going to find that it's a server bug (specific to IMAP, and how AquaMail fetches attachments separately from message text -- as opposed to fetching complete message and breaking it into text + attachments in the app, like K9 Mail does...)

My company implemented a MDM on all cell phones. Citrix Worx. Its a great program for company emails and it doesn't corrupt the pdfs.
I am keeping aquamail for my personal email, since you cant use personal email on Citrix. Nevertheless, all is ok.
I do have a question. How come I don't have a deleted folder for my personal email address. I only have draft and sent

If it's a POP3 account, then the Deleted folder is there, but only shown when there is something in it.
If it's an IMAP account, long press it in the account list -> options and folders -> folders, find the server side Deleted, tap it, choose "Sync with [ Deleted ]".

I believe its POP3 because the IMAP instructions don't jive. I still don't see the deleted folder. I delete from inbox or sent, and there is no deleted folder

And how do you do that?
"Move to deleted" or "Delete immediately"?
Or maybe "hide"?
Only "Move to deleted" moves messages into Deleted (causing messages to show there), and it's the default, but I'm asking just in case.

OK, this is crazy. I deleted my personal account, re-added it, and the deleted folder showed up. If I delete an email, it goes into the deleted folder like it should. i looked this morning, and now there is no deleted email folder...its gone!!

The account is POP3?
POP3 accounts only show the Deleted folder in the account list when there is something there.
If you'd emptied the folder (and it now has zero messages), it will be hidden until next time you move something there.
