The Aqua Mail app was installed with Portuguese, I would like that the app uses English in everything. How can I change from Portuguese to English?
-
Maybe atleast force EN. ;)
-
You cannot select a specific language. AquaMail uses the device language (and English by default).
Sorry. Portuguese translation is not good, too many errors. I do not blame Aqua, Portuguese is awful... If I cannot use it in English, I will uninstall it, even though the app is excellent.

James:
The Translations are provided by normal users (like you and me).
Therefore you are cordially invited to correct some Portuguese phrases:

I create first version of library, which manages app languages with ease. It is not basically so hard, just we need to cover the code to make it simple to use.
Kostya, are you interested in? You would have to just add one line of code to all app activities (probably in onResume)
-
As far as adding a language selector -- sorry, the app uses the Android system language, that's pretty standard actually...
This is what Kostya said today.
-
One line of code (use Helper/lib method) can't really hurt. If it were open source, I would do it myself.

Sure, just send it to me by email.
Something like this?

And maybe a message saying "this may cause the app to crash at random"?

Sent email.

Yes, works fine, thank you! Something for the next version bump...
-
This is a great idea. I'm looking forward to the next version.
-
I'm going to put it into 1.5.9 (-dev builds), not the current "stable" 1.5.7.

It was a perfect Sunday evening project...

I will also need translations for "System language" for all languages.
But we can save it for later and do it in a more organized way, there are other new items.
I have updated the Arabic translation of "Arabic" for the setting itself.
Hope all the others are OK -- if not, please let me know (Slovenčina? Українська? 中文 (简体)?)
I'm excited too --
Dealing with Chinese Simplified / Traditional on Android is a pain, it has to be done by country code, with separate copies of each resource file for each country ("Chinese + region HK", "Chinese + region TW"), and that still doesn't help a Chinese person living elsewhere.
Now it's much better. And maybe someone will contribute a Chinese Traditional translation, the current one is Simplified.

PS - THANK YOU PYLER !!!

I will also need translations for "System language" for all languages.
German translations:
System language > Systemsprache
Language > Sprache
System > System
German > Deutsch
You can use whatever you need.
And again: Thanks to Pyler!!!

You are welcome ;)
I can't wait to try new beta :) ;D

Why I don't see the same Look and feel view as on your screenshot? How to change a language?
I'm on 1.26-1689 version.
-
You have to change the language in the device’s system settings.
Due to new Google regulations the language can / may only be changed in the system settings.
-
@mikeone Many of my installed apps allow to change the language. And that is a good thing.
It is also helpful in this forum to discuss menu items in english, which you normally only know in your native language.

Correct. I also have plenty of apps that has language selection, so this Google limitation seems to be fake.
