Title: 6 lines per account on home screen? (account, inbox, drafts, sent, deleted, othe
Post by: gregconquest on March 22, 2015, 04:50:31 am
AquaMail seems to be working well for me except for one glaring problem: on the start screen, in the account list, each account occupies 6 lines! Account name, inbox, drafts, sent, deleted, and other folders.

Why? And I can't seem to change this default behavior.

Over 95% of the time I go to my inbox only. I don't need to see these. Using 6 lines per account means even on a tablet I can see only a few accounts, and I have to click around collapsing displays unnecessarily to just get to my other accounts.

In KaitenMail, the apparently abandoned project that I'm coming from, each account gets one line. Click it, and you go to the inbox. Click "back" or the account icon and you go to the full folder list. This just seems such an obvious way to set things up. I don't understand why AquaMail doesn't do it by default. And searching here for the relevant keywords has not shown me if it's even possible to set AquaMail to work this way.

Thank you, Paris Geek. "Settings" -- "Account List" is the perfect place on the menu for this option, and "Expand accounts" does, in retrospect, seem a somewhat logical name. I'm not sure how I missed that option entirely (and I did go through the menu items pretty thoroughly). It still seems the folders under the accounts should be collapsed by default, then "expand" would make more sense.

Anyway, I hope my question here, with the keywords, might help others in a similar situation. And I have just purchased the license. AquaMail has become my KaitenMail replacement.

Just want to mention one other setting -- under "account list" -> "inbox on account tap".

Normally, tapping an account name expands / collapses its folders (standard Android UI).

With the above setting on, tapping an account will open its inbox's message list, and to expand / collapse, you will use the "expand / collapse" icon on the left.
