Didn't there used to be an option to limit the size of the initial download of messages so that large messages or huge attachments don't load completely unless you request it? Or am I getting this confused with another email app? It's a feature that does save on your data usage.

You can set the size of loading messages in AquaMail settings / Network / WiFi settings + Mobile data settings.
I'm sure that is what you are searching for.

Thanks. I know I've never seen that setting in Aquamail, so I must have been thinking about the way it was implemented in K-9, which I used for quite a while before discovering Aquamail.

The defaults in 1.5.0 are very conservative -- I made them larger in 1.5.1 (depending on Android version) -- but K9's are still larger, 32K, IIRC...
