http://www.aqua-mail.com/download/AquaMail-market-1.3.26.11.apk

Updated French translation

Added a bit of animation to contact images (message list, contact picker) on Android 4.1+. Nice touch or annoying?

Added a setting under notifications for when "notify about: new" is enabled: "Reset on notification clear".

This new setting is explained here: http://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=2215.msg8809#msg8809

+++++

1.3.26.13

http://www.aqua-mail.com/download/AquaMail-market-1.3.26.13.apk

Fixed (I hope) access to folders in EWS "shared mailboxes".

+ Fixed inline images in messages sent by Lotus Notes

+ Fixed IMAP SEARCH when the account is set to "sync by number of days"

+ EWS: access to shared mailboxes.

Shared mailboxes are treated as accounts, you'll need to enter your personal credentials that give access to the shared mailbox, then tap Manual, and on the detailed settings page, enter the email of the shared mailbox.

Consider this experimental, feedback welcome.

LOL, very true! That's why we all bought Android devices rather than iPhones of course. :)

On that subject - and only if you're feeling up to it yet - would there be any chance of adding that per-account coloured background option for the Smart Message List view that we were discussing a while back? Just one simple tickbox beside the new "Color: unread background" and "Color: read background" selectors would be perfect, which would set the background colours based on that message's "Assign colour" account setting (which I have already set to delicate pastel shades ;) ).

I really would find that style so much more useful, especially for making each account stand out at a quick glance, rather than the current corner flashes which can get visually muddled with the contact images.

Thanks for all your hard work, and hoping that you are feeling a bit better in yourself now. (1.3.26.1 working fine for me  by the way)

Thanks Paris Geek. Yes, the full account-name bar does help a little - but of course it has the downside of taking up an extra line unnecessarily, which reduces the amount of messages the Smart Folder can display per screen. About 95% of my messages are from one account, so that's a lot of screen real-estate used up when I just want to visually identify the other 5% as and when they appear.

If the background colour used for that account/folder name tagline could just be extended over the whole background of the message area (without needing to have an extra descriptive text line) that would be absolutely perfect. (Different background colours for read/unread status aren't important to me; bold/coloured text in the subject line works perfectly for that)

@andre - I'll think about it. Do you propose using same (account) color for read/unread, or only one of the two, and which one?

Would it only apply in the smart folder?

If not, what will I tell users asking about the inconsistency?

Have you tried "slim padding" setting (under message list) to fit more messages on the screen? This works in the smart folder, too.
Title: Re: 1.3.26 -> 1.3.26.1
Post by: andrewilley on April 06, 2014, 06:59:37 pm
Thanks Kostya.

Yes, I already use slim padding, but the account-name banner adds an extra line to every message, for which a simple background pastel colour wash might accomplish the task perhaps more elegantly and without taking up any extra screen space.

As to whether it should also appear in the individual account folder views as well as in the Smart Folder, I think that would be a nice idea in order to maintain a unified view of each account. Obviously optionally though, as I assume many users would prefer to just stick with plain white backgrounds.

To that end, I would suggest that a tickbox option could be added below the email account's "Options and Folders" > "Account Options" > "Assign Colour" menu option, titled "Use assigned colour for backgrounds in message lists". That way it could be selected per account if desired.

Otherwise, if it's easier to make it just for the Smart Folder view (which it probably would be, as most of the code would be the same as for the account/folder name line) then just add a tick option to the Smart Folder menu, just under the "Account and folder names" tickbox, with the wording "Use Assigned Colour background for each message".

Either way, it doesn't need to affect the read/unread status option, as any picked colours within that menu could just override the backgrounds in the same way they do at the moment (i.e. not choosing a colour for the Read or Unread status would simply mean continuing to use the Assigned Colour for that account, if selected).

Oh, and by the way while I'm looking at that screen, maybe the "Switched Backgrounds" option is effectively obsolete now that you can select separate colours for the read and unread flags anyway? Just noticed that. :)

Dear Fcasoli, I already use the Smart box to include sent messages. There's an option (in compose and send I guess) allowing you to do this.
I'm stupid,
I find it immediately!

Thanks

Indeed - there a per-account setting, under Options and Folders / Composing and Sending to include the Sent folder in the Smart Folder.

Found, but I would like a second folder, Smart Sent, not to have inbox and sent in the same list.
What do you think about?
I understand unified folder must be one and not two, but for me it is more ergonomic.

If I send a message with my Gmail account, the email  appears always two times in the sent folder. With 1.3.24 it works fine

Guess I'll just have to wait for my lil' old coloured backgrounds then :)

I know you have other issues taking you away from development time too, so if you could just add it to the 'to do' list for future implementation as it does seem an ideal way to flag emails for different accounts. Thanks.

Getting back on track for a moment :) I've just got a Galaxy Note 3, and on its humungously large screen, even the 'extra small' font in the new messages list view is still pretty big. Could we have an extra-extra-small option (or maybe better to just use point sizes, giving a wider range of smaller and larger sizes)

@andrew --

My personal everyday device is a Galaxy Note 3, I get 9 message list items per screen (in portrait) at the smallest font setting.

What about you? The "9" is with the default wide padding top/bottom inside each message list item. Turning it off should fit even more -- this is in app settings -> message list -> "use slim padding".

@malik --

There are many things I'd like to do, but right now I'm trying to work on embedded images in rich text (e.g. corporate signatures, pictures of cats, etc.)

No news on the next development build yet, sorry. Things have been difficult.

Aquamail and this Forum can be a tool to be near you, it is the power of Internet and information technology! 15 years ago I was following a forum about calendar app for Symbian and the administrator and developer was solving his health problems, in Russia, after some years we are in contact and I enjoy to understand now all is OK.
I hope my past experience could be replayed in this context, this is my favorite wish I ask for you, Kostya.

Greetings Kostya,

I'm new to your app. I just discovered it last week and bought the pro version a few days later. I'm always more than happy to support great developers like you who do excellent work. I'm enjoying your app immensely. It is well thought out and implemented, and full of incredibly useful features. The support interaction and support you give your users is stellar!

I'm saddened to hear that you're facing life-threatening health challenges. I send you my deepest hope that you experience full recovery.

Sorry to hear you are still suffering so badly with your health, and I hope there is a brighter light on the horizon and you are pulling through OK. All of our thoughts are with you, and we certainly appreciate everything that you do in the face of such obstacles. Keep Moving Forward mate, and the very best of luck to you.

I use slim padding, and get five and a half items on the message list screen (like you, on a Note 3). I have the Line-1 and Line-2 fonts set to Small, and Preview text to Extra-small. I did have AquaMail set to show three preview lines, but I've cut that down to two to even get the 5.5 items per page - but I'd prefer three lines of smaller-still text.

Andre,
You should try this: use low sound button (of your device) while you are in message list, to lower ALL font sizes of your screen.

Wow, excellent! I never knew that feature even existed. The default seems to be largest available sizing, but a couple of volume-downs later and it's perfect. Nudge the subject line up a bit to compensate and it looks just right.

The default font size is actually the medium setting -- among five size steps total. Also works in account list, message view, message compose.
