Title: Inbox Search is Useless - Android Aqua-Mail Pro Version
Post by: King10x on March 28, 2014, 08:52:18 pm
No way to view partial results. Only way to get results is to wait for the search to complete through all messages on the server. The search will pause and ask "Get next 25 results?..." But there is no way to say "NO" and no way to view the first 25 results. I have 50,000 messages on the server. I only need to search until some results are found, I do not need to search the entire database.

The Inbox search needs to:

1. show results as they are found
2. give the option to stop after 1,5,10,20, results found
3. give the option to limit search depth to 100, 500, 1000 records

Please fix this, as a business user this one issue will force me to dump your product.

Not sure what you mean by having no way to say "NO".

Well, *saying* "NO" won't work, but how about just not pressing the "search for 25 more" panel if you already found what you're looking for?

The "25" comes from the "messages per page" setting. Not everyone would be happy with 100, 500, 1000...

The problem is there is no way to view the results. If you dont press the "Get next 25" panel then your stuck with no data and nothing else you can do accept abandon the search altogether.

Sorry I'm confused.

First you wrote "No way to view partial results." There is -- just don't tap the "Search for next 25".

Now you're saying that the app won't find all messages unless you use "Search for next 25"... which is true.

But which is it that you're having an issue with?

Searching the folder incrementally is deliberate: it saves time and traffic, and I assume that the value of old messages decreases over time, not true?

Since "sync by number of days" is a recent change, seems like a bug. I'll check it out. Thanks.
